At JK Creations, we offer services in the areas of custom sewing, alterations, and restyling. Our specialization is in couture bridal, special occasions and costumes. Let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll work together to create any look and feel you’d like to achieve for your special day.
Normal wedding gown alterations range from $200 to $800. I need to see your gown in person to be able to give you an estimate. Cost varies based on the fabric, details, hem style, number of skirt layers, type of bustle and more, and the number of alterations required. Gowns with extensive bead work, complex detailing, or that need to be completely restyled may cost more.
Please bring your calendar, wedding date, shoes and undergarments. If you do not have your shoes yet, please bring shoes that are the closest in height to what you will be wearing. If you are unsure about undergarments, please bring several options and I will be happy to assist you with the correct choice. You may also bring your veil, jewelry and other accessories.

Bridal gowns often need alterations to make the fit enhance the figure, the hem may need to be shortened and the train bustled for ease of movement after the ceremony. The style may be close to what the bride has envisioned but need some restyling or added details to reach that ideal. The gown that was worn by the grandmother or mother can be remade into an updated style, or a new layer with sleeves and a bodice overlay can be added to a strapless gown. There are nearly endless possibilities. Come in with your gown and your ideas – let’s see what enhancements we can make together.
Bridal alterations take 6-12 weeks, scheduled so that the final pick-up appointment is as far ahead of the wedding date as the bride is comfortable. We don’t recommend starting the alterations any sooner than that, because so much can change in the weeks leading up to the wedding – and you wouldn’t want to have to pay for the adjustments to be done a second time! If there is less time before the wedding when we first meet, I may be able to do the alterations but they may be charged at a rush rate depending on my work load.
The estimated price given at the consultation is based on the anticipated time required for necessary alterations and design changes, and the expected cost of any fabric or other materials to be provided by me. This being said, the final price may be more or less than the estimated price, and any additional alterations added during the later fittings will add to the price.
